Position Summary

Project Coordinator position is available in the Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics (CPMG) at Columbia University Medical Center (http://columbiamedicine.org/cpmg/). We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our research effort investigating issues of trust in precision medicine research among people with disabilities and racial/ethnic minorities. Our research more broadly focuses on the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of genomic and precision medicine research.

Responsibilities

  • Perform academic literature review
  • Perform qualitative data collection and analyses
  • Observe and/or facilitate online focus groups with diverse populations
  • Perform coding of focus groups' transcripts
  • Assist with manuscript preparation
  • Maintain timely and responsive communication with project team and collaborators
  • Perform additional related duties as needed or assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience
  • Team player with close attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work well independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in public health, social sciences, or other related field
  • Experience with focus groups and qualitative research
  • Familiarity with disability studies and/or ELSI research
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
