Quick Base Programmer/Analyst

The Quick Base Programmer/Analyst oversees database management and development for assigned research projects at the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI).  The individual is responsible for implementing evaluation protocols including longitudinal data collection from multiple sites. The individual is responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of a data collection system in Quick Base as well as extending functionality via integration with external applications and development of mobile system access. This work involves building automated on-demand reports in Quick Base, creating procedures for data transformation and preparation, and producing data output as needed for reporting purposes. The individual will be asked to expand our data management system to include qualitative data and integrate data review processes with our technical assistance team. The work includes oversight of data collection as well as cleaning, coding, basic analysis, and synthesis of data. The individual produces written documentation and video tutorials to build understanding of the data collection system. The individual uses data visualization to assist stakeholders in understanding and interpreting data.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data to ensure high quality and timeliness;
  • Maintain and further develop a complex national data collection system in Quick Base;
  • Design and develop database and procedural documentation for the Evaluation team;
  • Conduct data processing and basic data analysis without supervision;
  • Assisting in development of written products and presentation materials including figures, charts, and graphs reflecting study findings; 
  • Stay abreast and inform others of any changes in the field related to data visualization;
  • Provide guidance to the Evaluation team on state-of-the-art data visualization approaches;
  • Perform and monitor all personnel functions for designated staff, subject to established university and college personnel policies and in consultation with ICI Financial Manager and Program Manager;
  • Work with other ICI staff to improve capacity in the design and implementation of research, model demonstration and capacity building;
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience;
  • Ability to manage, transform, probe, and clean data sets;
  • Knowledge of relational database architecture, design, and administration;
  • Ability to communicate complex technical material to non-technical audiences through written and oral communication;
  • Ability to work well on interdisciplinary teams;
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to problem;
  • Expertise in use of Quick Base and other database systems;
  • Quick Base App Builder certification preferred.
  • Expertise in software packages (e.g., Microsoft Excel);
  • Experience with Qualtrics a plus;
  • Programming skills (HTML, Javascript, and xsl) a plus;
  • Knowledge of K-12 or higher education research, data sets, policies, and programs required.
