Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

12 Month - Tenure/Tenure Position

Occupational Therapy Program

We are currently seeking two candidates for 12-month, full-time, tenure/tenure track positions.  The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate a research agenda and evidence for obtaining research funding
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching in areas of expertise
  • Provide service to the University, the Community and the Profession

Wayne State University is a Doctoral/Research Extensive university with an urban teaching and service mission. The Occupational Therapy Program is housed in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in a state-of the art building on the Detroit Medical Center campus.  The Occupational Therapy program was established in 1944 and is a program in the Department of Health Care Sciences that includes Nurse Anesthesia, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Radiation Therapy Technology, Radiologic Technology, Radiology Assistant, and Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences.  The Occupational Therapy Program offers an entry level Master's of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program with a class size of approximately 34 students. Curricular content centers around evidence-based practice, community engagement and research. 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Earned research doctorate in Occupational Therapy or a related field
  • Peer-reviewed publication record commensurate with rank
  • Established research agenda with evidence/ potential for research funding
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan
  • University teaching experience with ability to teach anatomy, adult physical rehabilitation and/ gerontology
