Health Projects Coordinator

The University of Alaska Anchorage Center for Human Development is seeking applications for a Health Projects Coordinator. This position requires experience with applied research, project management, and community outreach. We are looking for a highly-motivated individual with experience in health education programs and/or sexual health. We desire someone who has excellent facilitation skills and who can coordinate multiple projects with a variety of university and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has excellent writing and presentation skills, and is experienced in research ethics and protocols.

 

This position will lead or support the following current projects: Friendship and Dating Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities focused on relationships and sexual health, Disability Abuse Response Teams project that addresses violence against individuals with disabilities, a Partners in Health project focused on training medical providers to provide exceptional medical services to individuals with disabilities, and finally, leading an American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry student club. In addition, you will have the opportunity to pursue funding for health and disability projects that interest you. 

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Substantial experience in a setting working with people with disabilities
  • Experience in special education, health education, sexual health, public health, and/or research/evaluation activities
  • Experience with project coordination, community outreach, and group facilitation

 

Education/Training:

Master's degree and two years research experience at the postgraduate level in a field relevant to the research (e.g., disability, sexual health, public health), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
