About the Department:
The Systems and Operations Management Department offers the following academic programs: B.S. in Business Administration with an option in Systems and Operations Management, Global Supply Chain Management and a Minor in Quality Management and Assurance. The Department also offers graduate courses in the MBA Program. We plan to offer a new B.S. degree in Business Administration with an option in Business Analytics as well as a Minor in Business Analytics starting from Fall 2021. We are also in the process of adding a new M.S. degree in Business Analytics. The Department faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and research and are actively involved in the university and community service. Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to deliver excellent teaching in undergraduate and graduate-level courses, develop course and/or curriculum in Business Analytics in collaboration with the college faculty, produce high quality research, and engage in service activities for the department, college, university and community. In order to earn promotion and tenure, faculty are required to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to effective teaching, to engage actively in discipline-based research that results in high quality refereed journal publications, and to contribute to the university and community.
The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she is housed for recommending tenure and promotion.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess experience and expertise in the application of data analytics to business problems. Doctoral degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Applied Statistics, Operations Research, or Operations Management with a heavy focus on Analytics, or a closely related field from an accredited program is required by August 23, 2021. Priority will be given to candidates with teaching/research interests in business analytics, and experience in data mining, data visualization tools, machine learning, and business analytics software. Evidence of effective teaching potential is required and prior teaching experience in business analytics and/or operations management is highly desirable. Evidence of scholarly research potential in a field related to business analytics and/or operations management is also required. Candidates must demonstrate commitment and ability to work, teach and mentor a diverse student population. At the time of appointment, candidates must meet current AACSB International standards for classification as Scholarly Academic (SA), and must continue to maintain this classification throughout their tenure.
At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to work in the United States.
