Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship

Riley Child Development Center- LEND

Indianapolis, Indiana

The RCDC LEND Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship is a 2000 hour training experience focused on neurodevelopmental disabilities. The experience includes at least 3 ½ days per week in interdisciplinary team clinics providing assessments for infants, children, and adolescents referred for developmental and behavioral concerns. Fellows will choose clinical rotations based on their individual interests that may include diagnostic consultations, early evaluation of autism spectrum disorder, psychological testing for a range of disorders, and outpatient therapy.

Each fellow has a primary supervisor who meets with them weekly and provides reflective supervision as well as mentoring. Additionally, fellows receive clinical supervision from other faculty psychologists on individual cases ("case supervisors"). This provides exposure to a range of different styles that supports trainees to refine their own clinical and administrative skills and develop their professional identity. Our program utilizes one-way mirrors as well as a video monitoring system to allow for review of clinical skills and styles.

Fellows also participate in the RCDC Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) cohort didactics and associated training opportunities. Each fellow will work with faculty members to complete a leadership project, which may include academic research or work with community partners. Fellows are expected to produce research or other scholarship for dissemination.
