The CDC is recruiting for a director for the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, RF-601/602-00. This position will be filled via the Title 42 hiring authority. The director will:
- Serve as senior advisor for birth defects and developmental disabilities, planning and coordination methods, and application projects,
- Determine the overall policies and approaches to be followed to achieve the mission,
- Direct and manage the operations of the center with primary responsibility for providing leadership and guidance to staff,
- Promote and support opportunities for collaborating between public health organizations, as well as integration with other CDC organizational units, DHHS offices and other Federal agencies as appropriate,
- Participate in developing program, policy and objectives, short and long-term goals, program strategies, and operating policies, and
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations in relation to objectives and to legislature, as well as budgetary and program planning.
