Position Summary:

The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is recruiting a visionary director to lead the inaugural Research Department. The position is a full-time, tenure leading position with salary and benefits commensurate with experience and academic rank. The ideal candidate will have a lifespan perspective on clinical/translational research.

  •  Oversee and manage the MMI research enterprise.
  •  Develop a research vision and framework for the Institute.
  •  Recruit and develop junior faculty.
  •  Work collaboratively with the 14 Department Directors at MMI.
  •  Maintain a vigorous, inventive research program of her/his own.
  •  Prepare the Institute for a submission of an IDDRC grant.

Required Qualifications:

MD or PhD degree

Supplemental Qualifications:

  •  Strong publication record in the area of intellectual and developmental disabilities
  •  Strong extramurally funded research portfolio, preferably by NICHD.
  •  Proven track record of mentoring junior faculty to successful careers.
  •  Problem solving, innovative and collaborative attitude. 
  •  Strong publication record in the area of intellectual and developmental disabilities
