Position Summary:
The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is recruiting a visionary director to lead the inaugural Research Department. The position is a full-time, tenure leading position with salary and benefits commensurate with experience and academic rank. The ideal candidate will have a lifespan perspective on clinical/translational research.
- Oversee and manage the MMI research enterprise.
- Develop a research vision and framework for the Institute.
- Recruit and develop junior faculty.
- Work collaboratively with the 14 Department Directors at MMI.
- Maintain a vigorous, inventive research program of her/his own.
- Prepare the Institute for a submission of an IDDRC grant.
Required Qualifications:
MD or PhD degree
Supplemental Qualifications:
- Strong publication record in the area of intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Strong extramurally funded research portfolio, preferably by NICHD.
- Proven track record of mentoring junior faculty to successful careers.
- Problem solving, innovative and collaborative attitude.
- Strong publication record in the area of intellectual and developmental disabilities
