The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities Division at CDD, has an opening for a Speech Language Pathologist. This position requires an individual with extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of young children at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, knowledge of state systems of care for referral, and the ability to effectively communicate results and diagnoses to families, team members, and early intervention staff. Both standardized formal methods of evaluation as well as informal observation will be necessary to be successful in this position. Knowledge and experience with ASD specific tests as well as instruments that measure speech-language deficits are necessary. This position requires some in-state traveling.
