Title:  Senior Manager, UCEDD Technical Assistance

Reports to:  Senior Director of Technical Assistance and Network Engagement

Organization:  The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) promotes and supports a national network of interdisciplinary centers on disabilities. Its member centers represent every US state and territory and include 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), 52 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Programs and 14 Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Centers (IDDRC). Together, these organizations advance policy and practice through research, education, leadership, and services for and with individuals with developmental and other disabilities, their families and communities, in support of independence, productivity, and satisfying quality of life.

The AUCD office is located in downtown Silver Spring, MD, one block from the red line Silver Spring Metro station. This position is an in-office position, with the option for occasional teleworking.

Position Overview:  AUCD is seeking a Senior Manager for UCEDD Technical Assistance (TA) to manage the UCEDD Resource Center (URC) and initiate collaboration between the URC and other AUCD projects. The person in this role will (1) lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of training and TA provided to the national network of UCEDDs to improve their program performance, statutory compliance, and program outcomes; (2) ensure the quality, efficacy, and continuity of TA activities provided in response to identified UCEDD network needs; (3) supervise team members; and (4) participate in strategic planning, grantwriting, budgeting, policy education, and other activities in support of AUCD's mission, vision and values. This position is funded by a federal contract.

Job Responsibilities
Technical Assistance

•  Project management for all technical assistance (TA) and training activities, ensuring high quality 
   and timeliness, while serving as lead staff on assigned activities. Training and TA activities include 
   but are not limited to planning and implementing national meetings, webinars, and individual 
   consultation and site visits; supporting advisory and other workgroups; facilitating collaboration 
   among network members and other content experts; developing materials such as newsletters, 
   website content, reports, guidance documents, and TA briefs; and participating and presenting at 
   conferences and other forums.

•  Collaborate with other teams to identify training needs and solutions for grantees
•  Provide TA and content expertise for topics of interest to grantees, funder, and AUCD

Data Collection, Evaluation, and Reporting

•  Manage data collection and project evaluation activities, including reviewing and monitoring all
   evaluation data related to the project, leading continuous quality improvement, and developing an 
   annual project evaluation report 
•  Assist in completion of continuation and supplemental applications, as well as competitive renewal 
   applications to funder
•  Provide programmatic expertise in support of grantee performance reporting

Budgeting

•  Assist in development and monitoring of annual project budget
•  Facilitate development, review and approval of all sub-awardee agreements, invoices for 
   payment, project staff expense reports & timesheets, and grant invoices & expenditures

Networking and Engagement

•  Represent AUCD on advisory groups, and at meetings and conferences locally and nationally
•  Carry out other activities that further the mission and goals of AUCD

Personnel

•  Provide direct supervision to AUCD staff working on the project
•  Provide updates to the Board of Directors on project activities as requested
•  Represent the interests of grantees in the context of broader AUCD initiatives (e.g. strategic 
   planning, communications, leadership development)
•  Act as back-up for the Sr. Director of Technical Assistance and Network Engagement on project-
   related topics as needed
•  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

•  Experience in providing technical assistance and consultation in topics related to disability, 
   advocacy, capacity-building, systems change, and/or program leadership and management in higher 
   education settings

•  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and adapt communication appropriately for 
   purpose and audience

•  Demonstrated data management, progress report, and evaluation skills
•  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy while responding to changing 
   priorities in a fast-paced office environment

•  Demonstrated professionalism with culturally diverse stakeholders
•  Demonstrated proficiency in using word processing, database and spreadsheet software, web
   tools, and social media tools to communicate and exchange information

•  Demonstrated ability to supervise others in a collaborative, strengths-based model of leadership
•  Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others on team and across 
   teams

•  Organization, prioritization, resourcefulness, and creativity
•  Ability to telecommute from remote locations when needed
•  Ability to travel, typically 3-4 days at a time, 6 times annually
•  Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience

Desired

•  Personal or professional experience with disabilities
•  Training or work experience in a UCEDD
•  Internal candidate preferred
