Position Description:  The University of South Florida, Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC) is seeking a candidate for a 12-month, non-tenure track position in the position of Executive Director for the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD). The position is .80 FTE funded by the CARD Projects and .20 FTE funded by the Child and Family Studies (CFS) Department. Depending on rank, the successful candidate will have an emerging (Assistant) or established (Associate or Full) national reputation for guiding community training and technical assistance projects in autism, positive behavior support, or life-span development. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with the capacity to establish and guide multiple initiatives across the life-span for individuals with autism and related disabilities, their families, and educational and human services personnel. The Executive Director will be responsible for leading community and state CARD collaborative program outreach activities, supervising research and evaluation activities, developing grant and other funding proposals, leading in the promotion of the CARD program, strategic planning, communication and reporting to the funder, and interacting with community, state, national, and international stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications are:  A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in special education, education, psychology, public health, or a related field by the time of appointment. Evidence of experience developing or guiding a community-focused training and technical assistance program. Evidence of experience supporting individuals with autism or related disabilities.

Preferred qualifications are:  Evidence of scholarship in research or evaluation in autism, positive behavior support, developmental disabilities, special education or family support. Evidence of securing external funding in one or more of the following areas: (a) autism (b) education or (c) developmental disabilities. Evidence of experience developing or guiding a community-focused training and technical assistance program providing services across the age-span. Evidence of experience in organizing and collaborating with diverse organizations and stakeholders. Evidence of experience in managing services or programs for multicultural populations or within high needs communities. Demonstrated experience as a supervisor of staff in their delivery of technical assistance and support to families, schools, and agencies.
