Outreach Professional Personnel Development Coordinator

This position will work with Vermont's Children's Integrated Services (CIS) Department for Children and Families to facilitate and develop a Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) for CIS services including Early Intervention (EI) Services under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities and their families. Responsibilities will include:  Facilitating development of a comprehensive career pathway for individuals seeking to or performing CIS and early intervention services; coordinating and collaborating with local, state, and national resources involved in early childhood personnel development; promoting and supporting the CIS‐EI certificate; and supporting the recruitment and retention of personnel providing early childhood services through consultation and direct problem solving services to CIS regions.

Minimum and desirable qualifications include:  A Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Early Education, Physical or Occupational Therapy, Speech, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, or other related field and one to three years' related experience is required. Effective communication skills and experience building lasting relationships with community and state partners is required. Experience working with young children and families experiencing specialized needs or risk factors through Head Start, Part C or Part B programs, or other high quality early care and education settings is preferred. Experience providing professional development, technical assistance, coaching and/or mentoring, and consultation to staff working with young children and families is a plus.

This positions primary office will be located in the Waterbury State Department of Children and Families office.
