Job Description
The Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities (NCED) in the College of Education (COE) at the University of Nevada Reno provides comprehensive and direct program support to students in the Path to Independence (P2I) program. P2I is an inclusive, non-degree postsecondary education certificate program for students with intellectual/developmental disabilities at the University of Nevada Reno. We are recruiting for an (Academic) Project Coordinator who is responsible for coordination, supervision, and communication of the academic aspects of the P2I program. This is a part time position up to 50% (with benefits). Duties of this position will include but are not limited to: attending IEPs (dually enrolled students) and person-centered planning meetings for each student; developing and monitoring learning agreements for P2I students; observing students in class and monitoring student's coursework; monitoring and training project mentors, interns, and educational coaches; and communicating with instructors and school district representatives.
Department Information
The NCED serves as Nevada's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant work experience; OR Master's Degree and one year of relevant work experience. Relevant Experience: professional experience in the field of disabilities or related fields. Additionally, this position requires a Nevada Special Educator licensure in Generalist Resource, Intellectual Disabilities (moderate to intense), or Autism Special.
