JFK Partners, Colorado's University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UCEDD) and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program is offering a 12-month Speech-Language Pathology Fellowship to begin July 1, 2018.
The training emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to research, assessment, and intervention, family support, service coordination, and community integration to meet the needs of persons with developmental disabilities. Development of disciplinary and interdisciplinary expertise, leadership and consultation skills and research as well as clinical growth are the goals of the training program.
The Speech-Language Pathology Fellow participates in interdisciplinary evaluations, interventions and consultation with a wide range of persons with developmental disabilities with an emphasis on working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The fellow also attends seminars offered at JFK Partners and is expected to pursue a research project in developmental disabilities. Eligibility: Applicants must be pursuing a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) in Speech-Language Pathology. Candidates who have already achieved their CCC-SLP are not qualified to apply. Applicants must have received the required graduate degree. Only candidates with US citizenship can be considered.
Program Description: The Speech-Language Pathology Fellowship typically include the following: specialized clinical training (assessment, treatment, consultation) in developmental disabilities with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorder, research, and didactics (seminars, workshops, observations in various settings).
Support: Compensation for this master's level position is $40,000 over 12 months with health care benefits available. Funding for this position is contingent upon JFK Partners receiving grant funding.
