Oregon is hiring a Title V CYSHCN Director! This position is located at the Oregon Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs at Oregon Health & Science University in the Institute on Development & Disability (IDD). This position has responsibility for administrative oversight of the state MCH Title V Services to Children with Special Health Care Needs (SCSHCN) program, known as the Oregon Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs (OCCYSHN.) OCCYSHN is a public health program that works to promote the optimal health and functioning of Oregon's children and youth with special health needs.

Duties Include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to the OCCYSHN program; supervision of specific OCCYSHN leaders responsibility for the planning, forecasting, oversight and approval of the OCCYSHN budget, system planning, policy and program development; close collaboration with the Maternal and Child Health Manager, Title V Director Public Health Division or Oregon other state agencies to assure that goals and outcomes for children and youth with special health needs and their families are met; and participation with the national Title V network of programs.
  • Performing balanced, analytical assessments concerning the implications of healthcare reform at state and national levels regarding the development of OCCYSHN's initiatives.
  • Participating in state and national level advisory groups as requested.
  • Leveraging external resources and seek grants to support OCCYSHN priorities.
  • Leading the development of issue briefs to policymakers and development of responses to public comments. Contributing to the development of the IDD Strategic Plan, provide oversight of the Public Health mission of the IDD, and will ensure OCCYSHN representation on the IDD Leadership Team.
  • Provide services as assigned by the supervisor in the furtherance of OHSU's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service, the mandates of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) and Title V of the Social Security Act, and in fulfillment of the public health mission of the OHSU Institute on Development and Disability.
