AUCD 2017 Scholarships Available for Network Trainees

Deadline: September 27

AUCD is pleased to announce the availability of 20 trainee travel scholarships of up to $500 each AND 4 trainee volunteer scholarships of up to $500 each to support AUCD Trainees in attending the AUCD Conference. Scholarships are available to (a) current trainees and (b) former trainees presenting work conducted while a trainee. The AUCD Conference is an amazing learning and networking opportunity, and we're excited to support you in attending.

The Boggs Center Celebrates Graduation of the Inaugural 2016-2017 NJLEND Cohort

The inaugural cohort of fellows graduated from The Boggs Center's New Jersey Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NJLEND) program. The NJLEND Maternal and Child Health Leadership Symposium was held at Children's Specialized Hospital, New Brunswick, and featured a keynote address from Sue Swenson, MBA, Vice President, Inclusion International and former Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, US Department of Education.

Celebration of Diversity, Teamwork, and the Future! (AZ UCEDD)

Northern Arizona University celebrated the accomplishments of the 2017 Hispanic, Latino and Chicano graduates at the 24th Annual Hispanic Convocation. Ms. Valeria Chase, bilingual specialist at the Institute for Human Development (IHD), served as member of the committee and put together a spectacular and energetic evening with distinguished guest, Mr. Claudio Sanchez, and a keynote address from Dr. Monica Brown who is a known for her bilingual children's books.

2017 recipients of the Alfred Healy Leadership Award in Developmental Disabilities (IA UCEDD)

The Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD) is very proud to announce that Jessica Gallegos, Matthew O�Brien, PhD, BCBA-D and Caitlin Owens, MSW are the 2017 recipients of the Alfred Healy Leadership Award in Developmental Disabilities. The purpose of the Alfred Healy Leadership Award in Developmental Disabilities is to nurture in recipients a life-long commitment to leadership in developmental disabilities that will carry on Dr. Healy�s legacy for future generations. Dr. Healy, who passed away in April of 2012, was a world-renowned pediatrician and educator who devoted his life to caring for children with developmental disabilities. He served as the director of the Center for Disabilities and Development, Iowa�s nationally designated University Center for Excellence on Disabilities, from 1977 until he retired in 1998.

Boston LEND Graduation (MA LEND)

The Boston LEND Faculty and Fellows celebrated the 2016-2017 LEND Fellows' Graduation with convocation speaker Valerie Bradley, President Emerita and co-founder of the Human Services Research Institute (HRSI). Also in attendance was the new ICI Director, Tom Sannicandro.

Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) LEND Trainees present final projects to New York State Department of Health

On April 27th, WIHD LEND trainees were in Albany, NY to present their research projects to the Department of Health and other stakeholders as part of their final project for the course "Seminar in Evidence-based Methods (SEBM)". In addition to 22 in-person trainees, two trainees from the University of Puerto Rico and two trainees from the U.S. Virgin Islands also participated via distance technology.

IN LEND and LEAH Programs Host Trainee Poster Session

The Riley Child Development Center (IN LEND) hosted the 7th annual MCH Poster session and professional networking reception on Friday, April 21, 2017. Trainees from both the IN LEND and LEAH programs shared their research and leadership projects. The posters were well received, with good discussions and future connections made!
