The Parent Child Interaction Therapy Clinic at the University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities has trained approximately 55 practicum students, predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, and licensed or licensed-eligible mental health professionals since its inception in 2006.

Katie Beerman and Allie Flynn, OH LEND, Tied for First Place in the Ohio Speech Language Hearning Association (OSLHA) Student Poster Contest 

The OSLHA Convention was held in Columbus, OH on March 19, 2011.  There were 47 posters representing students in Undergraduate Honors, Master's and Doctoral programs across the state.  Both Katie and Allie recieved 49 out of 50 possible points (judged by university faculty members from across the state). 

Christine Raymond, BSN, RNC-NIC, CT LEND, Places First in the Master's Category at the Eastern Nursing Research Society Conference

Christine Raymond, LEND Trainee during the 2009-2010 academic year at the University of Connecticut LEND program, took first place in the Master's Category at the Eastern Nursing Research Society Conference held in Philadelphia, PA. Her project title: Autism Spectrum Disorders: Screening and Referral Trends Among Connecticut Pediatricians.

Brittany Richardson, NC LEND, Shares Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Annual Conference Experience 

The 10th Annual EHDI Conference was held in Atlanta, Georgia in February of 2011.  This conference brought together a diverse group of professionals, students, and parents from across the country with the shared goal of providing better services to infants and young children with hearing loss and their families.

Disability Policy Seminar 2011: Reflections from AUCD Trainees 

Over 110 AUCD trainees attended the 2011 Disability Policy Seminar. In order to capture the experience, the 2011 AUCD Virtual Trainee Suzanne Engel asked trainees in attendance to share their thoughts by respond to three sentence-starters: "At the DPS, I...," "On the Hill, I...," and "One thing I will bring back to my program is..." This publication includes trainees' responses to these sentence-starters and provides an overview of what was learned and the impact the DPS had on trainees.

AUCD is Now Accepting Applications for 2011-2012 Virtual Trainee  

This individuals works remotely from his/her home Center/Program for one academic year to build and enhance a network among trainees at AUCD's UCEDDs and LENDs.  Candidates should be a trainee in the coming year, have previously acquired knowledge of their Center or Program, and be interested in learning about the entire network of centers, as well as national issues related to persons with disabilities and special health care needs.  Applications are due by July 15.
