In February, Amy S. Goldman, co-executive director of the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, College of Education, participated in the G3ict Accessibility Week in New Delhi, India. "G3ict" is the acronym for "The Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communications Technology-Promoting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the Digital Age."
During the week-long event, February 13 - 21, 2014, experts from around the world gathered to share information and ideas about a wide variety of communication issues that affect people with disabilities.
Amy was invited to be a part of the UNESCO Briefing Session on "Inclusive Information and Communication Technology (ICTs) for Education." The session featured a high level discussion with leaders from the Indian government and stakeholders in India about the significance of the UNESCO model policy on accessible ICTs in education, adopted last year. In addition, the group discussed how to assist countries on the implementation of these policies.
