The AUCD Young Professional Award is presented to a person in the field of disabilities under the age of 40 who has demonstrated dedication and commitment to people with developmental disabilities and their families through work as a bridge between the academic sector and the community.

"Katie's passion for working with people with disabilities stems from her experience with her sister who has an intellectual disability. Katie recognized a need to support other siblings of people with disabilities and has enthusiastically worked to develop the national Sibling Leadership Network (SLN). When Katie sees an unmet need, she is quick to offer her expertise and leadership. Katie is an outstanding young professional, whom we believe is highly deserving of the Association's award."
