Implementation Support for State Demonstrations to Integrate Care for Medicare-Medicaid Enrollees

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a funding opportunity for the 15 states that have received a design contract for a demonstration to integrate care and align financing for dually eligible Medicare-Medicaid enrollees. Funding is only available to states have received a design contract and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CMS to implement their demonstration design.
Awards are estimated to be between $1 million and $15 million. Federal funding may cover 100% of the cost of approved implementation activities in the first year, with shared cost between the state and CMS in the second year. CMS will only award one agreement per signed MOU. The states with two different proposals (Washington and New York) are eligible for two funding agreements.
The 15 states with design contracts are: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.
