Vanderbilt Kennedy Center hosts autism study tour for French disability professionals Autism clinical, educational, and research activities at Vanderbilt was the focus of a day-long visit, October 1, hosted by the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for a group of nine social workers associated with the CREAHI Campagna-Ardenne, a regional center in France that provides services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Led by Bruno Deswaene, Ph.D., Laboratory of Applied Psychology, University of Reims, the group heard nine presentations, many by TRIAD faculty and staff, that covered assessment and diagnosis and the Vanderbilt Autism Treatment Network, family training and support, early childhood initiatives, autism-related training for school personnel, and person-centered thinking and planning. Research presentations included the SENSE Lab and SENSE Theatre and Stress Reduction for Children with Disabilities and Their Parents.
