On September 27th, Dr. Gloria Krahn delivered a lecture entitled "Health Disparities of People with Intellectual Disabilities: What we know, What to do" as part of The Westchester Institute for Human Development's (WIHD) 40th Anniversary Lecture Series. Dr. Krahn reviewed what is known about health needs and health disparities for people with intellectual disabilities on both a national and international basis. She provided an update of recent developments in improving data on health needs and highlighted what direction and actions need to be taken in the future. Congresswoman Nita Lowey opened the session with a warm welcome and expressed her strong commitment to UCEDDs, LEND Programs, and other federal disability programs.
