The Human Development Institute, University of Kentucky, announces the development of a web-based training module for improving mental health professionals' abilities to provide competent, ethical services to adults with intellectual disabilities:  Working Together Toward Recovery.

This training tool was created by an interdisciplinary team of disability, education, and psychology professionals and advanced doctoral students, in response to the need for specific training in this area.   Training content is directed toward disability etiquette, developmental and intellectual disabilities, accommodations, clinical considerations, ethics and legal issues, sexuality and relationships, and therapeutic progress and case termination.  Supporting references and other resources are also listed.

The training is delivered via virtual patient scenarios as well as printed information.  This training is offered at no cost.
