The UH Manoa College of Education (COE) welcomes Fulbright Scholar, Yevgeniy Tetyukhin, of Kazakhstan. During his time at the college, Tetyukhin will conduct research, audit classes, and consult with faculty under the advisement of Center on Disability Studies (CDS) Director Robert Stodden and Associate Professor Steven Brown. In addition to developing intercultural relations between the U.S. and Kazakhstan, his research will focus on globalization in culture and education, diversity and unity, disability issues as a part of world diversity, and civics as an all-encompassing discipline.

Teaching at both the high school and university levels, Tetyukhin has been an active social issues lecturer in his country for 36 years. He is an international wheelchair athlete, which has enabled him to travel around the globe and participate in world wheelchair marathons as well as the Paralympic Games in Sydney (2000) and Athens (2004).
