On Wednesday, May 9th, Representative George Miller (D-CA) gave a speech in the House of Representatives urging Congress to pass the Keeping All Students Safe Act. AUCD sent this letter thanking him for his continued efforts to limit restraint and seclusion in schools.
Rep. Miller is the ranking Democrat on the House Committee for Education and the Workforce. The committee Democrats have created a webpage dedicated to the issue of restraint and seclusion in schools. Mr. Miller's floor speech and other background materials can be viewed on the site.
