Trainee One-Word Survey

June 1, 2012

Trainees all go on a journey throughout their time at a LEND or UCEDD. The learning curve is steep, but the academic, leadership, interdisciplinary, and skills-based accomplishments at the end of the year are undeniable. We've all asked trainees to describe at the end of the year their journey, and words like "incredible," "empowering," and "intense" are often used.

The 2011-2012 Virtual Trainee Jody Pirtle wanted to get into the minds of trainees during that journey. To ensure the highest possible participation and ease of submission, she emailed out the following single question (via surveymonkey) to the Trainee Listserve at the very beginning of the year, at the beginning of the second semester, and at the end of the year.

What one word describes how you are feeling at this stage of your AUCD Traineeship?

Hundreds of trainees responded to each survey, and the resulting word cloud is impressive. The words that appear in the largest font are those that were submitted most often.
