November 30, 2011

The Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, College of Education (PA UCEDD), has started the recruitment phase of a unique training program called Emerging and Established Leaders, set to begin early next year.

This version of the Institute's popular Competence and Confidence: Partners in Policymaking (C2P2) series pairs people with disabilities who have established themselves as leaders in his or her select field or community, together with people with disabilities who are seeking to develop successful leadership skills.

The program, offered over a series of five weekends from February through September at the Dolce Valley Forge Hotel in King of Prussia, PA, is seeking emerging leaders, individuals with disabilities ages 18-30, and established leaders who are individuals with a disability and are motivated to help mentor others.

Guest speakers, experts in the field, will teach and lead discussion on a variety of topics such as "Leadership and Diversity," "Sharpening Team Building Efforts," and "Effective Community Service."
