This publication is the first in a series of AT Act Data Briefs supported by the National Information System for Assistive Technology (NISAT). NISAT is a project of the Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs and the Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts Boston. John Butterworth (Senior Fellow) and Frank Smith (Research Associate) of the Institute for Community Inclusion have been awarded a five-year $1,250,000 grant by the U.S. Department of Education to operate the Center for Assistive Technology Act Data Assistance (CATADA). This center will assist Statewide Assistive Technology Programs to collect and report data on their activities and build Program's capacity to use data for program improvement.
