Brian Freedman, PhD, Named Director of DE's Center for Disabilities Studies Transition, Education, and Employment Unit

Brian Freedman assumed the position of director of the Center for Disabilities Studies' Transition, Education and Employment (TEEM) unit at the end of June 2011. Brian received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and completed a postdoctoral residency in Applied Behavior Analysis and Developmental Disabilities. He has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for 15 years and most recently served as the Clinical Director for the Center for Autism and Related Disorders at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore.

Brian has developed innovative community collaborations between clinical, educational and community organizations. He has also conducted research on the effectiveness of clinical and school-based interventions, as well as stress and coping among parents and families who have a child with an autism spectrum disorder.

Brian will direct all TEEM programs and serve as program director for the Transition Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities into Higher Education (TPSID) grant, which is funding the newly-established Career and Life Studies Certificate (CLSC) program at the University of Delaware.
