The Arc of Somerset County's annual Arc Angel Gala, Achieving Together, is scheduled for Friday, November 18, 2011 at Fiddlers Elbow in Far Hills, New Jersey.
We proudly announce The Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities as our Arc Angel honoree this year. The Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities is New Jerseys federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service. Since its inception in 1983, The Center has emphasized a community based, life span approach to meeting the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
Accepting the award on behalf of The Elizabeth M. Boggs Center is Dr. Deborah M. Spitalnik, the centers founding Executive Director. Recently appointed to the Presidents Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities, Dr. Spitalnik chairs the NJ Medical Assistance Advisory Council, the national Council on Quality and Leadership, previously served as a member and chair of PCPID, and is past president of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities.
