A review of medical literature, published in Pediatrics, found no concrete evidence that screening toddlers for autism spectrum disorders is safe and effective. However, some experts say that the analysis failed to include recent studies that have shown benefits of this type of screening and follow-up for children and that parents need to know that their concerns will be addressed.
