The Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Clinic at the University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities has trained approximately 55 practicum students, predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, and licensed or licensed-eligible mental health professionals since its inception in 2006.  In December 2010, the PCIT Clinic successfully completed a site review conducted by two representatives of PCIT International, Inc. www.pcit.org.   As a result of the visit, Christina Warner-Metzger, Ph.D., received certification as a PCIT Master Trainer.  As such, Dr. Warner-Metzger entered the ranks of PCIT International as 1 of 15 Certified Master Trainers in the world.  She also serves as a member of the PCIT Task Force on Communications.   Due to the many efforts and talented work of the PCIT Clinic Staff (Colby Butzon Reed, Ph.D., and Jessica Myszak, Ph.D.) and trainees of past and present, the Boling Center PCIT Clinic training program is recognized as one of a few model training programs for PCIT in the country.   Additionally, through support from the Centers of Excellence for Children in State Custody Best Practices Dissemination Project, a pilot PCIT Learning Collaborative began in January 2011 to train West Tennessee mental health professionals in the implementation of this evidence-based practice.  It is the second Learning Collaborative of its kind in the country.  To find out more about PCIT services and training offered through the Boling Center PCIT Clinic, please visit www.uthsc.edu/pcit.
