Snow 2010

A series of February storms in the DC area closed the AUCD offices and Federal government for 5 straight working days. In total, nearly 3 feet of snow fell in the Silver Spring area. Public transportation was brought to a standstill and schools were closed for weeks.

In between power outages and shovelling shifts, AUCD staff documented the event from their snowed-in homes.  While snow of this amount is a typical occurance in some parts of the country, it is rare in the DC area.  Some of our AUCD staff have never seen snow in this quantity.
