Virginia Institute for Development Disabilities
Description: IDDS 600: Interdisciplinary Teamwork in Developmental Disabilities This course is a three semester hour graduate offering for any graduate student within the helping professions. The course addresses the nature and importance of teamwork, the mutual impact of families, consumers, communities, and direct service provider on support networks, life span issues of individuals with disabilities, and approaches and contributions of various helping disciplines. The course follows a case study format combined with didactic presentation emphasizing the varied roles and contributions of multiple disciplines along with individuals and their families. It is offered in both the Fall and Spring semesters
