Centers of Excellence in Cancer Communication II (P50)

Funding capacity: $8 million in FY08 to fund three to five center grants, with a total set aside of $40 million over the course of 5 years.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) invites grant applications for Centers of Excellence in Cancer Communication Research (CECCR) Program. The CECCR Program is designed to promote interdisciplinary research in the area of cancer communication with the purpose of contributing directly to positive health outcomes and quality of life for individuals. This is an open competition for all eligible applicants. Special emphasis is placed on the patient-centered communications (defined by the Institute of Medicine as providing care that is & responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values) needed to improve health and quality of life outcomes across the Cancer Care Continuum.
