Submission Date: December 8, 2007

The mission of the NICHD Center for Population Research, Reproductive Sciences Branch (RSB) is to reduce the burden of illness and disorder in the reproductive system and support scientific research to increase our understanding of basic knowledge of the processes that underlie the success or failure of human reproduction. The RSB also support training of scientists in the research of these areas. In order to carry out this mission, it is important to identify significant global health issues and to develop creative approaches that promote international research, training and collaborations in the reproductive sciences. The main goal of the Americas Fellowship in Reproductive Sciences (AFRS) is to advance the training of qualified Latin American reproductive scientists by enhancing their basic or clinical research skills in a research setting in the U.S. and Canada.
