The Center on Community Living and Careers (CCLC) at Indiana University is excited to announce the launch of the National Learning Academy (NLA), a virtual education community serving up comprehensive insight and practical employment applications from IIDC experts to a national audience.

The mission of the NLA is to offer in-depth instruction on a variety of topics related to disability and employment. The NLA opens its doors on April 1, and starts with four month-long courses focused on mental health conditions:

  • Anxiety disorders—Dive into the types, risk factors, symptoms, treatments, and ways to help people with anxiety disorders reach their vocational goals.
  • Bipolar disorders—Learn the characteristics of bipolar disorders, related functional challenges, treatment options, and how people with bipolar disorder can become competitively employed.
  • Personality disorders—Explore the traits of personality disorders and how they can affect interpersonal relations. Learn about career counseling and planning and strategies to achieve successful employment.
  • Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorders—Identify the basic elements of schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders. Discover effective employment practices and understand the challenges faced by youth during the transition process.

These online courses impart deep knowledge about these conditions and equip professionals to help individuals with these conditions find competitive employment.

Cost for each course is $125, with professional development credits available. Join us starting April 1, 2023 as we begin an exciting journey to empower people with mental health disorders to succeed in the workplace.
