Special RDS Issue on Disability & Sub-Saharan Africa Now Available

The Center on Disability Studies at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, College of Education, is pleased to announce the release of an Extended Special Issue of Review of Disability Studies: Understanding Disability in Sub-Saharan Africa. The double issue (pp. 343) is now available @ https://rdsjournal.org .

The interdisciplinary issue features renowned guest editors Elvis Imafidon (University of London) & Charlotte Baker (Lancaster University), two preeminent scholars on disability & Sub-Saharan Africa.

This special issue consists of original articles & creative works that take seriously & explore some important aspects of sub-Saharan African perspectives on disability & their impact on understandings of disability & the lived experiences of persons with disabilities in Africa. The issue focuses on communities in countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe and general understandings of disability.

This double issue also contains additional international disability studies research.
