Mentoring Autism Researchers to Advance Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

May 16, 2022

At the Conference on Research Innovations in Early Intervention in San Diego, February 2022, Dr. Landa brought together current and past mentees to support their career development and foster exchanges between early investigators from diverse cultural, racial, and geographic backgrounds. Each of the mentees had the honor of presenting cutting edge research at this very prestigious scientific meeting. Topics ranged from a public health approach to improving language outcomes of children living in Navajo Nation to community-engaged participatory research to support Black, under-resourced mothers to enrich their infants' language and learning experiences to equipping child care providers to implement evidence-based strategies to improve language and emergent literacy skills in inclusive classroom settings for children with autism and developmental disorders.
