Call for Participants: Health Care Video Project

March 31, 2022

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) and Community Catalyst are holding a focus group to learn about the experiences of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities when getting health care.

What is the focus group about?

We know that visits to the doctor are not always great, and we want to make them better. Hearing about your experiences will help us educate doctors, nurses, and therapists about what they can do to make your health care visits better. We are especially interested in hearing from Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latino/a/e/X, Arab/Arab American, Southeast Asian, Asian, Asian Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, Desi and/or immigrant communities about their experiences. During the focus group, we will ask about the following things:

  • What makes your health care experience good or bad?
  • How can your health care providers treat you with respect?
  • How does your race or ethnic background impact the care you receive from your health care providers?
  • What makes you feel like a partner in your care?
  • Do your providers address all of the issues that are important for your care?

When is the focus group?

The focus group will take place on ZOOM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM ET. The focus group will be 90 minutes long. Each participant will receive $125 as a thank you for your time.
