Overview

The UCEDD Resource Center (URC) and the Interdisciplinary Technical Assistance Center (ITAC) on Autism and Developmental Disabilities at AUCD seek 4-6 content reviewers to address Spanish Language and Plain Language materials development and review needs. Reviewers will work with URC and ITAC staff to review and adapt materials into plain language and Spanish.

Role of Reviewers

Plain Language Reviewers will:

  • Work with AUCD staff to make information into plain language.
  • Let us know if the information is clear and easy to understand.
  • Let us know what we can do better so everyone can access and understand.
  • Make recommendations during zoom meetings and suggest edits to documents.
  • Participate in reviews when needed between February 1, 2022, and September 29, 2022.

Spanish Language Reviewers will:

  • Work with AUCD staff to ensure that documents and other materials in Spanish are accurate and culturally meaningful.
  • Make suggestions and edits, so the information is clear and easy to understand in Spanish.
  • Let us know what we can do better so everyone can understand and be inclusive.
  • Meet with AUCD staff if issues arise with reviewing the documents and materials.
  • Participate in reviews when needed between February 1, 2022, and September 29, 2022.

Reviewers will be paid $100 per hour and complete a minimum of 5 hours to a maximum of 10 hours.

  • Resume,
  • A letter of interest that shares why you would make a good reviewer,
  • Examples of documents you have created in plain language or Spanish language,
  • If participating as a reviewer fits within a paid position you have, please also include a letter of support from your supervisor or management.

The materials you submit should show you have the following skills or knowledge:

  • Understanding of the AUCD network and the disability community,
  • Experience reviewing materials for plain language or Spanish language,
  • For Spanish reviewers - experience developing culturally appropriate materials for the diverse Latinx disability community.
