New Nationally Certified Training for Vocational Rehabilitation Leaders

Boston, Ma. - The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at the University of Massachusetts Boston is announcing the Transformational Rehabilitation Leader Training (TRLT), a new, nationally certified, professional education program in partnership with the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), and the University of Wisconsin-Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute (SVRI).
The TRLT will prepare vocational rehabilitation (VR) agency leaders to support VR counseling professionals and improve services that assist people with disabilities in career development and community inclusion.
A team of VR leaders with decades of experience developed the TRLT training curriculum with support from CRCC, SVRI, and ICI. The training curriculum focuses on six core leadership domains:
- purpose-driven leadership
- conscious leadership
- cultural leadership
- creative leadership
- inspirational leadership
- collaborative leadership
Participants can complete asynchronous online courses, attend learning collaboratives, and participate in communities of practice over the course of nine months. A cadre of experienced instructor-mentors will provide consultation, guidance, advice, coaching, and mentoring throughout the training program. Participants will receive a nationally recognized Certified Rehabilitation Leader (CRL) credential from the CRCC once they complete the program.

ICI has a long history of working with VR programs nationwide and in the territories to enhance services by providing training, technical assistance, research, and consultation.
