We are excited to announce the AUCD Emerging Leaders Interns for the 2020-2021 training year! These trainees will serve as visible ambassadors to the broader AUCD network, interacting with AUCD staff at all levels and the AUCD Board of Directors' Emerging Leaders Representative.

She is currently working on her Doctorate of Audiology at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Jessica is a LEND fellow from the OKLEND program and is currently beginning her role as an advanced LEND trainee. Her passion includes working with individuals who have neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families. She enjoys learning more about educational policy and advocacy so that she can empower self-advocates to advocate for themselves. As a person with hearing loss, Jessica enjoys working with families that have just received a diagnosis of hearing loss and are figuring out a path forward to success. Jessica hopes to work as a pediatric audiologist and serve on an interdisciplinary team. When she is not working she enjoys decorating cookies and drinking coffee with friends. This is Jessica's first year being a part of AUCD and she is very excited about what this year will bring!

Following a diagnosis warranting an Individualized Educational Plan targeting behavior and attention in her son at the age of 3, Kiki has developed a passion for childhood mental health. She hopes to provide an all-inclusive healthcare model for children with this form of disability. Her focus is on better understanding social determinants and related factors that impact access to comprehensive and continuous care and the resources available in aiding access to affordable care and services for this population.

Kiki enjoys early morning runs, traveling to, and cooking meals from different countries.
