Happy National Public Health Week!
One in four people have a disability. That's over 61 million people living in communities across the country, yet public health efforts do not consistently include them. We work to change that. We use evidence-based strategies and data to make this change happen. AUCD's National Center on Disability in Public Health offers several resources to get started on including people with disabilities in public health efforts. Stay in touch and let us know how we can work together!

New Health Care Access Resources!
The Public Health is for Everyone Toolkit is a one-stop collection of resources on health and disability. The online toolkit serves to increase the capacity of public health professionals to create programs that benefit entire communities, including people who have disabilities. The Public Health is for Everyone Toolkit provides resources to enhance planning efforts in key issue areas such as emergency preparedness, nutrition, obesity, health care access, accessibility, and more.
In our continued efforts to support the critical role that healthcare providers play in serving everyone in the community, AUCD's National Center on Disability in Public Health conducted an environmental scan for medical education resources that can enhance the inclusion of
Developmental Disability (DD) in undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education of physicians. The AUCD network and partners responded with an influx of resources that have been added to the Toolkit. Updated resources include:
- Florida Center for Inclusive Communities Health Activities & Resources for Medical Training
- Responsive Practice: Accessible & Adaptive Communication
- Resources on Health and Development
- The Developmental Disabilities Primary Care Program
Visit the Health Care Access key issue area of the PHEtoolkit.org to see all the newly added resources! You can also submit resources to be included in the Toolkit
