Cari Roestel is the nurse care manager for the Pediactric Developmental Canter at Advocate Children's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Rachel Demma is the director of Early Childhood Systems Development at the Maryland State Department of Education within the Division of Early Childhood.

DHDD's "Learn the Signs. Act Early." Program releases new children's book: Baby's Busy Day!
 The Division of Human Development and Disability's (DHDD) "Learn the Signs. Act Early." (LTSAE) program is excited to announce the release of a new book for 1-year-olds, Baby's Busy Day: Being One is So Much Fun! (Un día ocupado del bebé, en Español). The book was launched in November at the National Association for the Education of Young Children Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Baby's Busy Day is LTSAE's latest children's book meant to help parents learn more about their child's development and encourage them to track developmental milestones. Strategies for Engaging Family Partners
National Institute for Children's Health Quality (NICHQ) lead Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS CoIIN) is working to understand how to improve family engagement to promote their child's healthy development. They are working to get families in the conversation with pediatricians, early learning experts, state officials, and public health professionals. Wyoming Institute for Disabilities Launches Project SCOPE: Supporting Children of the Opioid Epidemic
 The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND) was awarded a National Training Initiative grant to build nationwide provider capacity in screening, monitoring, and supporting children and families impacted by Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome. This grant extends the reach of the 2018 pilot phase to include 16 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) in partnership with the Nisonger Center at The Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.  Dr. Adriane Griffen, of AUCDs public health team, attended a January Capitol Hill briefing, where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) unveiled the Active People, Healthy NationSM initiative. CDC has released new data that highlights disparities in physical inactivity in the U.S. The initiative focuses on promoting strategies to help 27 million Americans become more physically active by 2027. Surgeon General, Jerome Adams, ended his remarks with push-ups to demonstrate how you can add activity to your day. Inclusive Sex Education: The SHEIDD Sexual Health Resource Hub
 We are all sexual beings, including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). However, people with I/DD don't always have access to sexual health education. Last year, the University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) at Oregon Health & Science University, in partnership with Multnomah County Health Department in Portland, OR, launched the Sexual Health Resource Hub. The SHEIDD community association group (CAG) prioritizes resources that are person-centered, uphold the sexual rights of people with I/DD, and include and were developed by people with I/DD. The sexual health resources featured on the Hub have been reviewed and vetted by members of the CAG, who are self-advocates, family members, staff, providers, teachers and community members.
