Dr. George Gotto Named Director of Missouri UCEDD

The University of Missouri-Kansas City has appointed George S. Gotto, IV, Ph.D., to serve as director of the UMKC Institute for Human Development (MO-UCEDD). Gotto has served as interim director of UMKC IHD since August 2018. He joined the Institute in 2009 and was named Associate Director of Research in 2016. He has also served as a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics at the UMKC School of Medicine since 2017.

Gotto is a founding member of the Missouri Self-Determination Association and is immediate past president of the Missouri Chapter of the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. He also contributes to several statewide efforts and task forces, representing UMKC and the important constituencies it serves. As director, Dr. Gotto will continue to lead UMKC IHD's staff of 50 members.
