IHDD hosts 5th Annual Georgia Disability History Symposium

On October 30th, the Institute on Human Development and Disability at the University of Georgia and the Georgia Disability History Alliance presented the 5th Annual Disability History Symposium. The symposium was titled: Power of Presence; From Segregation to Innovation: Inclusive Education for Georgia's Children. Judy Heumann, Internationally Known Disability Rights Activist, was the keynote speaker at this event. Over 140 people were in attendance including people with disabilities, advocates, educators, and family members. All attendees joined together to share stories, insights and lessons learned from the past several decades of educational history.
