Betsy Humphreys, Ph.D. Appointed as NH-ME LEND Program Director

The NH-ME LEND Program is pleased to announce the appointment of Betsy Humphreys, Ph.D. as Program Director. Dr. Humphreys joined the Institute on Disability (IOD) at the University of New Hampshire in 2010 as Training Director. Dr. Humphreys is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at UNH and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She has worked extensively throughout early education settings in New Hampshire since 1985 and has collaborated with public education, Head Start, state partners, and childcare programs.

Dr Humphreys' research focuses on evaluating evidence-based interventions and services for young children with developmental disabilities and examining leadership frameworks that establish and support cross-systems collaborations for health and early education professionals. Dr. Humphreys has led numerous developments within the LEND program including a nine-year partnership with the Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies at the University of Maine. In addition, she has co-authored two book chapters and a number of peer-reviewed manuscripts. "Dr. Humphreys' expertise, experience, and vision are a perfect match for this leadership role within our LEND program," shared Matthew Gianino, IOD Associate Director. "For almost a decade, her impact on trainees, their careers, and the communities they serve has been invaluable."
