About the Contest

This year, we are celebrating the 30^th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act! The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) affects everyone, which is why we celebrate the anniversary of its signing every year. Anyone from the AUCD Emerging Leaders Community (i.e. current and former AUCD trainees) is encouraged to submit a 2-3 minute video addressing the following questions:

What is your AUCD Program/Center?
What is the ADA?
How does the ADA affect your community?
What does the ADA mean to you?

This is an opportunity for Emerging Leaders to demonstrate their commitment to disability rights as civil rights! This video allows Emerging Leaders to educate others on the ADA, connecting policy and impact, and to convey their personal and professional experiences. The winner will have their video shared on the AUCD YouTube channel, Twitter feed, and Facebook page as a part of our ADA anniversary celebration, on July 21^st. Winners will also be interviewed virtually by Liz Weintraub, long-time disability advocate and host of Tuesdays with Liz!

Rules

Submissions from current and former AUCD trainees, as well as students with intellectual and developmental disabilities only
2-3 minutes long
Video clearly addresses all four questions (above)
Video uses plain language and is accessible (Captions will be added by AUCD staff)
Submissions only accepted through the AUCD website at the button below
No late submissions will be accepted (deadline: July 1).
Extra consideration will be given to videos including Liz's favorite quote, "Nothing about us without us!"
