OHSU UCEDD Celebrates Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month with a Poster Gallery

April 5, 2019

Taking over the first floor wall space in the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, a building built in 1971 with some of the first UCEDD funding disbursed, the OHSU UCEDD hosted a Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month event showcasing its clinical, research and programmatic work. Selected posters were displayed for the final week of the month and the event was promoted across the university. A chance at winning prizes incentivized participants' trek across campus to check out over 20 posters and learn more about developmental disabilities and the work of different centers within the Institute on Development and Disability.

This event was accompanied by a lengthy list of recent research publications by institute faculty. Other activities of the month of March included a department-wide announcement about the importance of the awareness campaign from the director of the institute, a bulletin board of weekly rotating content following the NACDD themes for the awareness month, and participation in the NACDD social media campaign - #DDAwareness19.
